Empowering Girls with Tailoring Skills: A Path to Freedom and Dignity.

In Nepal, thousands of young girls grow up in extreme poverty, marginalized from birth simply because of their caste. They are often labeled as “untouchable” by society—an identity that brings lifelong discrimination, exclusion, and hardship.

Without education, skills, or opportunities, these girls face a grim future. Many are at high risk of exploitation, forced labor, or human trafficking—one of Nepal’s most devastating crises. Each year, an estimated 35,000 men, women, and children are trafficked, while 1.5 million Nepalese remain highly vulnerable due to poverty and lack of education.

A Life-Changing Opportunity

We believe that education, skills training, and employment are the most powerful tools to break this cycle of vulnerability. The Glorious Hair and Beauty Salon and Training Centre is a project that has been developed to provide real hope and practical skills to young women through basic tailoring training—a skill that will empower them to earn a living, regain their dignity, and build a future where they are no longer at risk of exploitation.

At the heart of this vision are two incredible young women—Sara and Niru. Both are not only skilled and passionate but also deeply committed to leading with love, humility, and integrity. They will be responsible for the daily operations of the salon, as well as mentoring others who come through the training centre.

Sara

Sara’s journey is one of incredible courage and transformation. Born into poverty and a lower caste in a small village in Bardiya, she endured deep social exclusion and barely had access to education. Later, trafficked to Singapore under the guise of employment, she was rescued and returned safely to Nepal. Despite these overwhelming hardships, Sara persevered. Today, she is a trained beautician with a heart to empower other women who have suffered like she has. Sara is a dedicated Christian and a blessing to our local church. Her story is no longer one of survival—it is one of hope, faith, and restoration.

Niru

Niru’s story is equally inspiring. Coming from a marginalized rural background, she left home at a young age to care for an elderly man in need. It was during this time that she met her now-husband, Kumar—a pastor—who was moved by her compassion and selflessness. Niru is a vibrant Christian woman and an active leader in her church’s women’s ministry, mentoring younger women and leading worship. With our support, she completed advanced beautician training and is currently upskilling in nail extensions and professional makeup. Niru's heart burns with a desire to equip other young women with both practical skills and spiritual guidance, and she will play a key role in shaping the training centre’s future.

Make a Difference

This salon will be more than a business—it will be a place of transformation. Through vocational training, women will gain confidence, dignity, and a sustainable future. And by sponsoring this project, you are not just giving these girls a skill; you are giving them hope, independence, and a future. With your help, they will receive:

  • Tailoring training – equipping them with practical skills to create and sell clothing

  • A safe and supportive learning environment – free from discrimination and fear

  • The tools and resources they need to start their own small business or find employment

  • A way out of poverty and exploitation – empowering them to stand on their own feet
